Today I wanted to share an easy kitchen DIY that can be made in just a few minutes! I saw this idea years ago and had wanted to do it but always pushed it off. I love the idea of having a menu “whiteboard” in the kitchen as an easy way of staying organized and letting your family know what you have planned for the week.
I like to do my meal planning on Sunday night so that I can use up whatever produce is left in our fridge from the previous week or can add ingredients to my grocery list. I have the menu hung to the left of our pantry door and above our coffee station. Lucas loves being able to see what’s for dinner that evening while he’s making his morning coffee on his way out the door for work.
I matched my framed menu to our kitchen theme which has a lot of blue tones and rustic touches. I was able to make this for under $15 and only 10 minutes of my time. I love how easy it is to just wipe off the writing if plans have changed or to rearrange the meals.
What you will need:
- whiteboard marker(s)
- frame of your choice
- patterned paper
- alphabet stickers
- cut background paper to fit into frame
- lay out stickers for days of the week as well as Menu header
- frame and hang in kitchen
I chose not to include Saturday and Sunday in my menu meal planner as Saturday nights are commonly our date night out and every Sunday we go to my parents house for dinner, but do what works best for your family! This project is completely customizable and so easy to throw together.
Let me know if you decide to try this for your kitchen!
